Seeing the bigger picture. I liked the idea of never having someone else tell me what to do, when I had to work or what he or she thought I was worth.

Finding customers:

My mom is my Independent Senior Sales Director, so everyone we knew was in the business. I had to build my business with strangers. I was surprised at how excited people were – and how they told other people. It grew from there.

Finding time:

I was working two jobs and going to high school. I got weird looks because I wore a business suit to class. But when you want something badly enough, you're willing to do whatever it takes.

Struggles:

Confidence: I was 18 and thought people wouldn't listen to me.
The investment: I knew I had to do it, so I just had to find a way and walk through the fear.
