When I first heard about Mary Kay:

I thought, “no thank you.” I'm not a salesperson; I can't sell. I'm very shy.

My mind changed when:

I decided to spend more time with my daughter and make some friends. I was new to Canada and needed to meet people. I started my Mary Kay business, was willing to learn and overcame my shyness. Today that's my passion – teaching and learning and giving that knowledge to others.

My customers:

Are the best! Some of them are more like sisters and friends. It's a great way to build positive friendships that can stay in your life forever.

Fave Mary Kay moment:

My daughter is over 18, and when we walk together, some people think we're sisters. That's the difference Mary Kay has made in my skin!

Mary Kay rocks because:

It gives us a quality product to share with others and a way to share it that gives us balanced lives. I love the teamwork, the friendly environment and the opportunity to be there for my family.

For my daughter, Mary Kay is:

A source of positivity. She's a born leader because she's seen, by example, how to become independent and prioritize her life goals. I've been able to spend quality time with her that wouldn't have been possible if I had a full-time job out of the home.

My mom and dad who gave me great values and education.

Struggles:

My daughter was four months old when I joined the business, plus I had a full-time job. I didn't know how I'd find the time.

Working from home is the best way to have a balanced life.

It allowed me to be a mom, run a business and take care of my family. My husband always laughs at me saying, "When I leave for work, you're home, and when I return from work, you're home as well. Yet you make more than I do!"
