I love the flexibility of working my own hours.

About Me:

From: Huntersville, N.C.

I married my soulmate, Brent Eicher, in December 2006. We just celebrated four oh-so-wonderful years together. We have no kids, no pets and no plans for either right now!

My fave things:

My favorite vacation destination is Italy and my hobbies are cooking, exercising and traveling. I like to read the local newspaper and my favorite movie is probably The Notebook.

Before starting my Mary Kay business:

I was studying world religions and foreign languages at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Why I became an Independent Beauty Consultant:

I wanted to follow in my mom's fabulous footsteps! I grew up knowing there was pink blood coursing through my veins. I also wanted extra income for travel money. It's expensive to fly to Europe!

Early obstacles:

My mom's incredibly successful business left me with very few "warm market" people to get my business off to a successful start. Where was I going to start?

What I love most about my business:

I love the flexibility of working my own hours and the open-ended earning potential.

How this opportunity has changed me:

I have truly learned to run a company from the bottom level all the way to the top. I'm the retail clerk, the customer service manager, marketing and advertising director, problem solver, trainer, accountant and CEO all in one! It has given me such incredible business experience and makes me feel very confident as a businesswoman.

What has surprised me most:

How many college-aged women were not only interested in purchasing age fighting skin care, but also interested in being young entrepreneurs!

My advice to someone considering a Mary Kay business:

I tell women who are thinking about starting their own Mary Kay businesses that they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If nothing else, they can get paid to take the best self-improvement course in the world.

What Mary Kay connections mean to me:

My Mary Kay sister beauty consultants and sales directors are some of my best friends in the world. They've supported me in ways that I couldn't even begin to share – it would take years.

"Nothing to lose and everything to gain."

Why Mary Kay rocks:

My Mary Kay business allowed my husband to leave a corporate job and start a non-profit organization. The financial security allows us both to spend time, energy and resources to aid orphans in Africa. If it were not for my Mary Kay business, I don't believe we would have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these children on the other side of the world.
