A Century-Long Legacy: Mary Kay Ash’s 100th Birthday

It’s a special day for our Mary Kay family!  May 12th marks what would have been my grandmother’s 100th birthday. What I know for sure as we celebrate her century-long legacy is that Mary Kay Ash was a woman ahead of her time, all the time. She stepped out into a man’s world in the 1960’s to blaze a new path for women and in doing so, she built a company with the progressive purpose of empowering women.

What my grandmother really understood is that women needed to have flexible opportunities with unlimited potential.  No ceilings or caps on their success. She truly felt that everyone had greatness inside them if they were just given the opportunity to unleash it. In this milestone year, I know Mary Kay would be so proud to see the thousands upon thousands of confident, strong independent sales force members around the world living up to their potential and achieving their dreams.

As we celebrate Mary Kay’s 100th birthday and the 55th anniversary of the company she founded, we’re also thrilled to announce the launch of the new TimeWise® Miracle Set 3D™ in the U.S., a breakthrough in innovation and the largest product launch in our company’s history. This new product line is a testament to my grandmother’s vision and mission for our company and its continued success. If she were here today, it would be awesome to go to my grandmother and hold her hand and say, we’re still doing it. Your dream is living on.

Anytime we hit milestones like these, it’s important to remember the people who make it possible. We recognize that this company wouldn’t be where we are today without our loyal, dedicated Mary Kay Inc. employees and our independent sales force members.  So, thank you. Thank you for who you are, what you do and for continuing to keep Mary Kay’s legacy alive today and into the future.
