This episode of Project Runway® Season 15 highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit that motivated Mary Kay Ash and the countless Independent Beauty Consultants who followed in her inspirational footsteps. Up-and-coming fashion designers also need to channel their passions into profits, so this challenge was all about putting the “business” in “fashion business.” The designers worked in teams to pitch their creative visions to investors in hopes of acquiring money to produce their own mini collections and showing that they have what it takes to succeed in the industry.

Designer Dexter Simmons and his team won the challenge with a collection inspired by the urban woman and her desire to feel bold and fashion-forward. Mary Kay Global Makeup Ambassador Luis Casco brought the team’s inspiration to life by creating four cohesive looks that he customized to flatter each model’s personality and features. According to Dexter, “the makeup looks are like a narrative for your favorite story. They are a quintessential part of bringing runway magic to fruition.”

Each member of Dexter’s team received a $5,000 prize in memory of the $5,000 in life savings that Mary Kay Ash used to start her dream company in 1963. As the overall winner, Dexter Simmons also will be featured in a Mary Kay advertorial in Marie Claire® magazine.

Luis gave this model soft, smoldering eyes using Iced Cocoa cream eye color, Hazelnut mineral eye color and smudged MK Black eyeliner and stained-looking lips with Berry lip liner and Crushed Berry gel semi-matte lipstick. This softer take on the modern gothic look that rocked the Fall 2016 runways paired beautifully with the soft contouring Luis did to play up her bone structure.
